On Saturday the 26th of October from 13:30 to 14:30, Leiden University will welcome Richard C. Hoffmann for a presentation on his latest work on fish and fisheries in mediaeval Europe: The Catch (Cambridge University Press, 2023). The professor emeritus of York University is a renowned environmental historian of pre-modern Europe, whose major contributions to the field include his book An Environmental History of Medieval Europe (Cambridge University Press, 2014). The lecture is organised by both the Graduate School of Medieval Studies (Onderzoeksschool Mediëvistiek) and Environmental Humanities LU, and will take place in the Kamerlingh Onnes building, room A1.44.
