Environmental Humanities Center Amsterdam is delighted to welcome artist and lecturer Susanne Kriemann for an artist talk at Framer Framed on November 26th from 18:00 to 20:00.

Susanne Kriemann will discuss the photographic project Lupin, fougère, genêt taking plants in/as the nuclear landscape after uranium mine closure in the French Limousin as its focal point. The former uranium extraction centre of France is now speckled with decommissioned mining pits filled with water to create artificial lakes. The surrounding landscape still holds the memories of radioactive extraction in its water and soils, and as a consequence, in the plants that have absorbed the unearthed radioactive elements. In her talk, Susanne Kriemann will walk through her artistic research process centring this nuclear landscape and the plants that form its skeleton.

We kindly ask to register for free here.
