Launch Kunstlicht journal on Nuclear Aesthetics

On April 16th, at FramerFramed (Amsterdam) the Environmental Humanities Center will join forces with the Kunstlicht journal to launch the journal issue on „Nuclear Aesthetics“.

Remember the “Nuclear Waste Weeks” we organized in November 2017? This was the start of our cooperation with Anna Volkmar (LUCAS, Leiden University) and Kyveli Mavrokordopoulou (Georg Simmel Centre, EHESS, Paris)! In May 2018, together with Ruby de Vos (ICOG, University of Groningen) they organized a young researchers workshop devoted to „(In)Human Time : Artistic Responses to Radiotoxicity“ at the VU. Quite a few of the participants now publish their contributions in the upcoming Kunstlicht issue. Ruby de Vos and Kyveli Mavrokordopoulou are the issue’s managing editors.

Doors open at 19:00. The event starts at 19:30 and ends at 20:30, after which there is time to view Canopy, Canopy, an installation by Susanne Kriemann, check out the journal and have some drinks.
